The Gipsy Kings sing
in Spanish
Position at 5H30 (Paris) :
12° 30 S / 134° 14 W

There remain a number of days
before arriving to Tahiti but Raphaëla feels as if they
are the longest days of the crossing. "Since the
beginning I have been optimizing, and I just carry on. If
I am on schedule it’s because I really force myself
to the extreme on a daily basis". Nevertheless,
she is physically and morally undermined. Tanguy and Claire
are at the PC Friday afternoon, it’s a stroke of luck
I am feeling a little low today… "We understand
this is the toughest phase for you, try and muscle yourself
psychologicallywe are all behind you. But don’t go overboard
with efforts".
- "You are right a 6hours day of navigation is enough.
The seventh hour becomes dangerous. I almost had an accident
yesterday".
Christine Janin makes her report at the PC. "Take
in every moment. Continue looking at the moon. If it was that
easy someone would have already done this… Would I have
found someone who is even more cranky than I ?".
Now Raphaëla smiles…
Tanguy specifies the countdown date: "You thihnk
you have a long time to go, but you are almost there!”
Raphaëla sighs a little: "My last hour (of navigation)
I’ll probably be singing so I’ll forget".
Corinne who joined us tries to perk her courage up.

Saturday afternoon, TV Breizh
comes to film all of the friends at the PC, we must be about
10 people around the table in front of the chimney, there
is a festive atmosphere. With Jaime our chilian friend (remember
the one, who wants to finish constructing his work before
Raphaëla arrives and Astrid the Columbian Spanish teacher
of Raphaëla:.
- "So Raphaëla, you listen to Spanish musicl
?"
- "Yes and I have just discovered that the Gipsy Kings
sing in Spanish !"
God I am almost ashamed…
Sophie intervenes "Don’t forget your classics
such as Tantum Ergo…". "At the moment I am
into singing Gloria".
Jean-Sé chief operator of the Nautical Club in Pénestin
comes to join us. He knows how Raphaëla feels. "You
know, the timing is not the only leitmotiv. I feel that you
are pushing yourself physically so please don’t go too
far. The only thing that counts is to arrive safely".
No response, Raphaëla does not protest…
 The conversation is barely
over that I have Guy in direct from the catamaran. "We
are about to sail off”. With the motor since the
weather is unfavorable. "I am very pleased with the
way in which Raphaëla is progressing. It is perfect".
Saturday is a day of rain and wind for Raphaëla, "but
it is boiling hot inside the board. I must open the bubble
otherwhise I cant see anything more with my glasses!".
 Sunday afternoon we get together
in a small group (dream) Team Kerfalher: Bibiche, Françoise,
Claudine have always been here on weekend since August 15.
- "I started relaxing with Goran Ivanisevic’s
music…".
- "Bregovic, Raphaëla, Bregovic !".
- "Oh yes sorry … I saw another daurade that was
chasing the flying fish with an oceanide. They make a good
tandem. The oceanide spots the daurade that in turn figures
out that the flying fish are closeby. It does not move, then
suddenly descends like a bird of prey.”
Raphaëla appears to have a few problems with the compas
and GPS. "I don’t understand what they are
telling me, I’ll move ahead intuitively according to
the sun and the stars…that always seems to work".
