Raphaëla starts talking
like a teenager. "Yesterday was fab! Exactly the
perfect wind, entre 15 with 18 knots and little white sheep
on the water". And then the wind shifted to the
East which is good news it will accelerate the descent. "It
was good surfing ground and the board lifted up to 8 knots
!". She is checking with her GPS portable.
Véronique, Raphaëla’s
sister, came specially from Belle-Ile to the PC in Paris.
"Raphaëla, I must tell you, people stop me in
the street to ask me if you are my sister- the one who is
crossing the Pacific –?- I am really proud…".
Raphaëlais in a good mood,
I hear it is her voice. Anne announces that the flotilla of
shrimp boats called her to let her know they were getting
close to Raphaella (damn they will see her before us…).
The goose barnacles are part
of the "festivities" and Raphaëla will have
to clean up really soon. "Mu indicator (remember
Bertrand) is the orange bit which at the moment is completely
colonised. It appears there is something on it that really
appeals to those creatures". And the only solution
to clean the bit is to dry it a whole day on the board.
Pierre-Louis Castelli makes
a philosophic point :

- "Oh no! When I saw the airplane the other day hovering
above me the other day, I had tears in my eyesand my voice
was trmpling. I was worried they would not find me".
Her elbows are more and more
painful "I put the Flector bandage and it helps.
Plus a few anti-anti inflammatory pills that also alleviate
the pain". The only remedy is for the wind to continue
like today which allows Raphaëla to advance without putting
too much pressure in the elbows.
