
The entire support team around Raphaela
during her 2000 Atlantic and 2002 Mediterranean crossing
is enthusiastically meeting her new challenge on the
Pacific.

Guy SAILLARD :
Architect and naval expert |
Guy Saillard supervised the crossing
of the Atlantic on a tandem sailboard by S. Peyron and
A. Pichavant in 1986, the solo Atlantic crossing of
S. Peyron in 1987, as well as the North Pole journey
of S. Peyron in 1988.
For the Pacific, Guy is in charge of the design and
construction of the new sailboard and all its fittings,
the navigation route over the Pacific.

Françoise LECOURTOIS |
Françoise Lecourtois is a
coach for Frances Olympic sailboard team and closely
follows the younger windsurfers at their training center
in La Baule.
For the Pacific, Françoise supervises Raphaëlas
physical training before and during the crossing, and
advises the team on matters of sailboard fittings and
rigging.

Pierre-Yves GUILLEMOT |
Pierre-Yves is a physician and physiotherapist
based in Nantes. He has monitored the health of sailors
from afar with JY Chauve and manages the physical preparation
and medical care of the sailing teams of the Pays de
Loire region.
For the Pacific, Pierre-Yves supervises Raphaëlas
health before, during and after the crossing.

Xavier MALLAURANT |
Under the supervision of the physician
Xavier Mallaurant, the Functional Reeducation Service
of Saint Nazaire hospital has made a pair of specific
splints for Raphaela for her front arms and hands in
order to grab the boom with them and consequently rest
her fingers. For, after a month of daily sailboarding,
the fingers become inflexible and painful.

Hélène CHEVREUIL |
Physician and nutrition specialist
based in Sucé sur Erdre, France,
Hélène Chevreuil displayed her immense
talent by keeping Raphaëla in excellent shape during
her Atlantic and Mediterranean crossing thanks to a
well balanced diet and a set of delicious meals ordered
by her.
For the Pacific, Hélène Chevreuil will
choose and calibrate Raphaëlas food.

Jean-Claude BELOT |
Masseur-Physiotherapist based in
La Baule, France.
For the Pacific, Jean-Claude will work with Raphaëla
to prevent tendinitis and muscular disorders. He will
also be ready to provide assistance during the crossing
if necessary.

Anne Henri, Raphaela’s elder
brother, and her friend Hélène André,
respectively president and general secretary of the
association “The Wind Odyssey”, were both
fully involved in Raphaela’s Atlantic and Mediterranean
crossing.
During the Pacific crossing, they will handle the followings:
Anne Henri le Gouvello : Logistics and general
management
Hélène André : Logistics and
general management – Responsible of the PC.

Former high level sailor,
Anne Combier (associate director) is now managing projects
for professional sport men and women with her agency
Hickory. She has been particularly involved with open
sea sailers such as Catherine Chabaud, Yvan Bourgnon,
Karine Fauconnier….
During the Pacific crossing, Anne and her team will
provide Raphaela’s team with their experience
in project management and in particular will handle
contacts with media and partners. In addition, Frédéric
Léonard (general director of Hickory) has assisted
Raphaela in her search of financial partners.

The support team, that is also people
who showed us and gave us all their friendship and precious
help to make such a project happen.
We in particular would like to thank Christine Janin
(physician, 1st French woman on top of the Everest and
at the north Pole by foot), president of the association
«A
Chacun Son Everest» and her team.
