Raphaela will leave the Peruvian coast near Lima on her Pacific crossing, solo, in complete autonomy. Her sailboard will be equipped for 90 days of autonomy.

After Raphaela’s departure, her team will return to France to organize everything to follow her by distance. A headquarter (PC) will be set in Paris (the exact location is undefined, yet) to centralize information about the progress of Raphaela’s crossing and establish phone contacts with her. This PC will be the place of meetings with journalists, our partners, friends, family, children, schools. YOU WILL BE WELCOME !

Every morning and every evening Raphaela will call her team to explain her situation and to get routing information from Guy Saillard according to the weather forecasts.

Once the 2/3 of Raphaela’s journey get achieved, a part of the team will move to set up a headquarter in Tahiti.

Raphaela’s target is to reach the Tuamotus from Peru (3600 nautical miles) along a straight line.

Close to these islands, a meeting point will be organized with the technical staff on a sailing boat who will guide her on the last portion of her journey in order to reach Tahiti (about 600 nautical miles). This organization was chosen because the conditions of the navigation among these atolls are quite dangerous for a sailboard like the one of Raphaela, especially at night.

The arrival is scheduled in Papeete.

No doubt that the Polynesians, a people of extraordinary navigators, will warmly welcome Raphaela !
